Ben manages the Rise FinTech Platform for the Barclays Group Innovation Office. In the last few months he has been responsible for delivering the Barclays Accelerator, powered by Techstars – a 13-week intensive program for early stage growth driven companies, aimed at bringing new technologies into the bank. Currently he is recruiting for the next New York cohort of the Barclays Accelerator whilst growing out the physical presence of the Rise Studio space in the Flatiron district and directly innovating on the technology that powers Barclays Innovation Initiatives.
With a degree in Computing Science and Business Management from the University of Glasgow, Ben joined Barclays in 2014 after working for a semantic technology business in Darmstadt, Germany. As a developer at Barclays Ben built out a frontend framework for design components. He then joined innovation through which he’s been involved in over 25 projects having worked for the global bank in Glasgow, London, Northampton, Frankfurt and New York.
