Ms. Caruso is Founder and CEO of The Alberleen Group, an investment firm providing direct investments and advisory services to family offices and privately held companies. The firm sources, structures and co-invests alongside its investors in private direct investments across both traditional, and environmental and social impact sectors.
Throughout a career in finance spanning three decades, Ms. Caruso has held senior roles at major investment banks building and managing global capital markets and asset management businesses. Prior to founding Alberleen, she served as global head of Absolute Return Strategies at Lehman Brothers and served on the management committee of the firm. Before joining Lehman, Ms. Caruso was co-founder and president of Andor Capital Management, a $7.0 billion equity long/short hedge fund. From 1992 to 2001, she was managing director and head of equities Americas at JP Morgan and was Chair of JP Morgan Securities. She began her career at Bear Stearns in its institutional equities division.
Ms. Caruso earned a B.A. with honors from Barnard College, Columbia University and is Chair Emerita of Barnard’s Board of Trustees, having served as a trustee since 2000 and as board chair from 2010-2018. She has served on numerous financial industry, private company and non-profit boards and is currently a board director of Align Impact, an impact investing advisory firm; serves on the fund advisory board of Golden Seeds, an angel investing group for women owned businesses; and is an advisor to Columbia University’s Entrepreneurship Program. Ms. Caruso is a frequent speaker at family office and impact investing conferences.
